Using Acumar Dual Inclinometers
Prepare the Inclinometers
  1. Connect the Main Unit to the Companion Unit with the connecting cable.
  2. Press the START button on the Main Unit.
  3. Ask individual to place head in neutral position.
  4. Place the Main Unit on the top of the head.
  5. Place the Companion Unit over the skin covering the T1 spinous process.
  6. Press ZERO button to set the neutral position.
Take Mesurements
  Cervical Flexion:
  1. Ask individual to flex head forward completely.
  2. When individual reaches maximum flexion, press the HOLD button to store the maximum flexion angle (a - b).
  3. Ask individual to return to the neutral position.
  4. Repeat measurements from three to six times to achieve validity crideria of ±5° or 10%.
  Cervical Extension:
  1. For cervical extension measurements, the above instructions may be repeated starting with the neutral position. and asking the individual to extend the head backward instead.
View Data
  1. To view stored data, press the VIEW button.
  2. Pressing the VIEW button repeatedly will display stored readings, minimum, maximum, and average values.
